Sweepstakes runs from 12:00:01 A.M. Eastern Time on January 1, 2008 to 11:59:59 P.M. Eastern Time on January 31, 2008.

I.   WHO MAY ENTER

This Sweepstakes is open only to legal residents of the United States, excluding Puerto Rico, who are at least age 18 at 12:00 Eastern Time on January 1, 2008, who have access to a computer and the Internet. All federal, state and local regulations apply. Void wherever prohibited or restricted by law. Employees of Random House, Inc. and its parent company, assigns, subsidiaries or affiliates, and their immediate families and persons living in their household are not eligible to participate in this Sweepstakes. Entries received from persons residing in geographic areas in which entry is not permitted will be disqualified.

II.   HOW TO ENTER

When your entry (including your name, email address, and mailing address) is complete, click the area marked “Submit Entry” (once submitted, entry cannot be deleted, cancelled or modified). Only entries submitted electronically to the official Sweepstakes site in accordance with these rules will be eligible for consideration. Mechanically reproduced entries not accepted. The first five hundred (500) entrants to complete the entry correctly will be named Grand Prize winners. LIMIT ONE ENTRY PER PERSON. If multiple entries are received from any person in violation of these rules, all such entries will be disqualified. All entries must be received by 11:59P.M. Eastern Time on January 31, 2008. In the event of a dispute about entries submitted by multiple individuals using the same e-mail account, entry will be deemed to have been submitted by the authorized subscriber of the e-mail account used to enter the Sweepstakes at the actual time of entry. The authorized e-mail account subscriber is deemed to be the natural person who is assigned an e-mail address by an Internet access provider, online service provider, or other organization that is responsible for assigning e-mail addresses or the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address. Entries generated by script, macro, robotic, programmed, or any other automated means are prohibited and will be disqualified. By entering the Sweepstakes, each entrant agrees to sign up for the Broadway Books for Better Living Newsletter and to receive notification from Broadway Books for Better Living of newly published books.  

III.   PRIZES AND ODDS OF WINNING

Potential winners will be selected on or about two weeks after the end date, by selecting the first 500 (500) entrants from all entries received. GRAND PRIZE (500): Five hundred (500) grand prize winners will each win one of two gift bags. Either a Pre-selected Gift Bag including a collection of six (6) Broadway Books titles valued approximately at one hundred US dollars ($100), including: The GenoType Diet, The Ultimate Cheapskate's Road Map to True Riches, The Girl's Guide to Kicking Your Career Into Gear, The Female Brain, What I Know Now, and This Year I Will or a Personalized Gift Bag including a selection of five (5) Broadway Books titles of the entrants choice with maximum value no more than one hundred US dollars ($100).
The prize will be awarded assuming a sufficient eligible entry is received. Entrants agree to be bound by these Official Rules. Sponsor will not be responsible for any costs incurred by the winners.

IV.   GENERAL CONDITIONS

On or about two weeks after the end date the first five hundred (500) entrants will be named Grand Prize winners by Sponsor's marketing department from all eligible and completed entries received by the entry deadline. The Grand Prize winners will be notified by e-mail and their mailing address will be used by Sponsor solely for the purpose of delivering the Prize. Odds of winning depend upon the number of eligible entries received, if a winner cannot be reached at the e-mail or mailing address on that winner's entry, or if a prize or prize notification is returned as unclaimed or is undeliverable for whatever reason beyond the control of Sponsor, that prize will be forfeited and an alternate winner will be selected. No substitution of any prizes will be offered. No prize transfer permitted. If a prize is unavailable, Sponsor reserves the sole right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value. All taxes, fees, and surcharges on prizes are the sole responsibility of the prizewinners. By participating and accepting a prize the winner grants to Sponsor (and agrees to confirm that grant in writing) and those acting pursuant to the authority of Sponsor, the right to print, publish, broadcast, and use, worldwide in any media now known or hereafter developed, including, but not limited to, the World Wide Web, at any time(s), the winner’s name, portrait, picture, voice, likeness, and biographical information as news or information and for advertising and promotional purposes without additional compensation or review.

V.   RELEASE OF LIABILITY

All entrants agree to hold harmless and release Sponsor and its parent company, affiliates, subsidiaries, officers, directors, agents, and employees; all others associated with the development and execution of this Sweepstakes from any and all liability with respect to or in any way arising from this Sweepstakes, participation in any sweepstakes-related activity and/or delivery/misdelivery, acceptance, possession, use, or misuse of prize, including, but not limited to, liability for personal injury, bodily injury, including wrongful death or disability; damage to property; and damage or loss of any other kind. Sponsor is not responsible for prize quality or utility. Sponsor is not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by Web-site users, by any of the equipment or programming associated with or used in the Sweepstakes, or by any technical or human error that may occur in the processing of submissions in the sweepstakes. Sponsor assumes no responsibility for any error; omission; interruption; deletion; defect; delay in operation or transmission; communications-line failure; or the theft destruction, unauthorized access to or alteration of entries. Sponsor is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines; computer online systems, servers, or providers; computer equipment or software; or failure of e-mail or entry on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any Web site or combination thereof, including injury or damage to the participant’s or to any person’s computer related to or resulting from participating or downloading materials from this Web site or Giveaway. Sponsor is not responsible for user cheating or fraud by any entrants. Any activities intended to disrupt or interfere with the proper play of the Giveaway or defraud Sponsor in any way will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Participants who engage in any of the foregoing activities will be disqualified and will forfeit any prizes won. If, for any reason, the Giveaway is not capable of running as planned due to, but without limitation, infection by computer virus, worm, or bugs; tampering, unauthorized intervention; fraud; technical failures; or any other causes beyond the control of Sponsor that, in the sole opinion of Sponsor, could corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of this Sweepstakes, Sponsor reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify, or suspend the Giveaway.

VI.   WINNERS LIST

For the names of the winners, available two weeks after the end date, send a self-addressed stamped envelope to Gold Diggers Treasure Sweepstakes, c/o S. Nash, Random House, Inc., 1745 Broadway, New York, NY 10019 by March 15, 2008. Winners list will not be available by telephone or facsimile.
