Legal Details about This Quiz:

1. This contest runs from April 3, 2003 through May 4, 2003. To be eligible to win, entrants must answer all questions on the official entry form correctly, and must submit their completed entry form to us via e-mail on or before the contest deadline: Midnight May 4, 2003. Submissions are via e-mail only. Any entries received by us after the deadline will be ineligible to win.

2. NO PURCHASE NECESSARY.

3. Ten (10) Prizes will be awarded: The Prizes consists of an advanced reading copy of Fatal Tide by Iris Johansen Estimated value of each Prize: Approximately $25.00 No transfer or substitution of the prize will be permitted, except by Bantam Dell Publishing Group, a division of Random House, Inc. ("Sponsor") in its sole discretion, in which case a prize of equal or greater value will be awarded.

4. On or about May 4, 2003, Ten (10) winners will be chosen in a random drawing conducted by Sponsor's marketing department from all eligible and completed entries received by the entry deadline. Winners will be notified by e:mail and asked to provide a mailing address to be used by Sponsor solely for the purpose of delivering the Prize. Odds of winning depend upon the number of eligible entries received, which is anticipated to be approximately 3,000.

5. This contest is only open to residents of the United States (excluding Puerto Rico, Rhode Island and Arizona). Employees and family members of employees of Random House, Inc., including its affiliates and subsidiaries, are not eligible to enter. This contest is subject to all federal, state, and local regulations. Offer void where restricted or prohibited. Random House, Inc. will not be responsible for payment of taxes on the value of any prize awarded hereunder.

6. The odds of winning depend of the number of entries received. No substitutions or cash equivalents allowed.

7. Winners will be notified by e-mail. In order for the prize to be awarded, each winner will be required, within fourteen (14) days of our notification, to provide via reply e-mail the mailing address to which the prize should be sent. If no such address is provided within such 14 days, another winner will be selected.

8. We are not responsible for entries that are late, misdirected, lost, garbled, unintelligible including those due to computer or network malfunction or congestion (including at Random House), and any such entries are ineligible
