AUTHOR BIOGRAPHY

Daniel Clowes

Dan Clowes was born in Chicago in 1961. The author of Ghost World and David Boring is widely regarded as one of the most brilliant cartoonists of his generation. His comics have appeared in numerous publications over the years. In 1998, Clowes was commissioned by former Esquire Editor Dave Eggers to be the first cartoonist to contribute a comic story to the magazine's annual fiction issue. A feature film based on his 1998 book, Ghost World, starring Thora Birch, was released by MGM. Clowes' most recent graphic novel, Ice Haven , was originally conceived from his work in Eightball. He is back at Pantheon with the eye-catching Ice Haven . He lives a childless, petless life in California with his beloved wife, Erika.
