The Lake, the River, and the Other Lake WENESHKEEN

The Contest

For a small town, Weneshkeen is chock full of interesting people, places, and events. Sometimes there is so much going on that a few get lost in the shuffle. You will find clues around the website to help you answer the questions below.

Use the map of Weneshkeen to find the answers, and e-mail as many as you can to KnopfWebmaster@randomhouse.com. (Please note: Players who have already read The Lake, the River, & the Other Lake might have a leg up on the competition. You can buy the book here.)

The player who submits the most correct answers by October 31, 2005 will win:

  • an autographed copy of The Lake, the River & the Other Lake
  • a full-size and lightly colored reproduction of the Weneshkeen map (drawn by the author!)
  • a jar of locally made Michigan preserves
  • Steve Amick's CD, "There's Always Pie" AND a soundtrack to the book
Read the official rules.
