Penguin Random House’s Alice Munro Wins Nobel Prize

Thursday, October 10th, 2013

Jubilation and great pride today throughout Penguin Random House worldwide with the news that our author Alice Munro has been awarded the 2013 Nobel Prize for Literature. Praised by the Nobel Prize Committee as “the master of the contemporary short story,” Ms. Munro is published in hardcover and e-book by our McClelland and Stewart imprint and in paperback by Penguin in her native Canada; Knopf and Vintage in the U.S; Chatto and Windus in the UK, Australia, New Zealand, India, and South Africa; and Lumen in Spain and Latin America. She joins more than 70 Random House and Penguin authors who are previous recipients of a Nobel Prize. Our joyous good wishes to our beloved author and to our family of her publishers and editors.
