Section Two: The Coverboys Frustrated by his own failure to excel as a recitalist and entering into a more human adolescence, Henry turns away from classical music and forms a band with his friends Oscar Love, Jimmy Cummings, and George Knoll. They play a range of styles from jazz to popular rock of the late '50s and early '60s. Some of the small ensembles mentioned in the book are Miles Davis, Dave Brubeck, and Red Garland - particularly his perfectly timed "Hey Now." For those curious about the Louis Armstrong tune that Jimmy Cummings sings, click for a sample of "I'll Be Glad When You're Dead, You Rascal You," which I first heard in an old Betty Boop cartoon.
