If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

As far as good suggestions for language learning go, it seems that all that's changed in 100+ years is the tone.

The help of a friend imbued with similar desires and aims will be useful. [...] The name of every object which is round about us in our daily life should be learned and referred to in conversation.
