Spammers, in an effort to get around e-mail spam filters, have begun using Esperanto translations of Russian science fiction for the subject lines of their e-mails. Language Log discovers that this technique actually works.
There's a wealth of source material for the spammers to be found here. I just had fun trying to decipher The Town Musicians of Bremen (Die Bremer Stadtmusikanten in the original German) from this Esperanto version, which says I can get a really great mortgage rate if I refinance now. (SUZANNE)
