China cleans up its language
We could all use a little mouth soap: In preparation for the upcoming 2008 Olympic Games, China is trying to clean up its language.
Citywide campaigns are under way to curb public spitting, to discourage public cursing and littering, and to promote lining up. There is even a campaign to rectify the often hilariously bad English translations on signs and restaurant menus. (SUZANNE)
