Meadow Beauty Family
18". Flowers 1", bright pink, with 4 rounded, slightly heart-shaped petals and 8 conspicuous, curly yellow stamens; clustered at branch ends. Stems 4-sided, with wing-like angles. Leaves ovate, rounded at bases, toothed, strongly veined. Fruit urn-shaped with 4 points. Blooms: July - Sept. Habitat: Sandy meadows, bogs, pondsides. Range: eastern New York, eastern and southern Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and south.
