Who We Are

Launched in January 2006, The Knopf Speakers Bureau represents some of the authors published by the Knopf Publishing Group. If you are an event or meeting planner, book club or academic programmer, small business or Fortune 500 company, or anyone else seeking a particular author for a lecture, reading or other occasion, then the Knopf Speakers Bureau can help you contact him or her. We can also help you decide on the right speaker for your group. If you need advice about your event or are looking for suggestions about a possible speaker, please get in touch.

The Knopf Speakers Bureau is part of the Knopf Publishing Group, which was founded in 1915 by Alfred A. Knopf (read his Borzoi Credo) and his wife, Blanche W. Knopf. Alfred and Blanche believed in scouting the world for good writers, and their philosophy of seeking out and publishing the best writers in the world continues today under the aegis of Knopf Chairman and Editor in Chief Sonny Mehta. Knopf garners acclaim both for its list of authors and for the physical quality of the books published at the house (books we will make available for purchase at your event). The Knopf Publishing Group includes the Alfred A. Knopf, Pantheon, Schocken, Vintage, Anchor, and Everyman's Library book imprints. As a group, we publish more than 500 books a year, from fiction and poetry to nonfiction on subjects as varied and wide-ranging as architecture, art history, business and economics, comics and graphic novels, current affairs, education, family and relationships, food and wine, health and wellness, history, law, nature, pets, political science, psychology and psychiatry, religion, science, and travel.

Thirty Knopf Publishing Group authors have been honored with the Nobel Prize; thirty-seven have won the National Book Award; fifty-six have received the Pulitzer Prize; thirty-eight have won the National Book Critics Circle Award; and countless others have won more specialized awards.
