Knopf author and editor Judith Jones was featured in the Food section of the Washington Post on Wednesday, January 23, with an essay called As a widow living alone, Jones describes how she still finds great pleasure and comfort in cooking for herself. Jones gives advice on how to keep costs down, how to keep extra ingredients from going to waste, how to challenge the supermarket's ''disdain of singles,'' and ultimately how to have the courage to prepare and enjoy a fine meal on one's own. Jones also took part in an online chat on washingtonpost.com.
