John Richardson's third volume of Picasso's biography goes onsale next week
The long-awaited third installment of John Richardson's biography of Pablo Picasso goes onsale next Tuesday. In a review this week in the New York Times, Michiko Kakutani praises Richardson's ''consummate knowledge of Picasso's work'' and ''incisive and revealing commentaries'' of his art. She says, ''Mr. Richardson leaves us not only with a deep appreciation of Picasso's Promethean ambition and prodigious fecundity, but also with a shrewd understanding of his tumultuous, subversive and often disturbing art.''
Upcoming media includes a cover review in this week's New York Times Book Review and reviews upcoming in the Washington Post, Boston Globe, LA Times and Time. He'll also sit down with Charle Rose later this month.
