    Snowy owl hunting in midnight light. These birds are one of the few animals who remain in the Arctic during the winter, and to watch such a predator hunt lemmings and ground squirrels feels more like watching a blurry ghost haunting the tundra. The snowy owl doesn't fly so much as it glides several feet above the ground.
