Rules for Ron Darling Sweepstakes

I. NO PURCHASE NECESSARY.

II. This sweepstakes runs from April 1, 2009 through May 1, 2009. To be eligible to win, you must sign up for the Knopf’s Sports Newsletter Entries must be received by 11:59 pm Eastern Time on May 1, 2009. Limited to one entry per person per email account.

III. One (1) grand prize winner chosen at random from all eligible entries will receive a prize consisting of Mets jersey signed by Ron Darling (approximate retail value: $79.99 US). Ten (10) runner-up winners will each receive one (1) baseball signed by Ron Darling (approximate retail value: $20 US) Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received. Sponsor is not responsible for entries that are late or inaccessible, including those due to computer or network malfunction or congestion (including at Sponsor), and any such entries are ineligible. Sponsor assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft, destruction, or unauthorized access to the site. All entries become the property of Sponsor, and will not be acknowledged or returned.

IV. This sweepstakes is only open to legal residents of the United States (excluding Puerto Rico) who are over the age of 13 at the time of entry. Employees and family members of employees of Random House Inc., including its affiliates and subsidiaries are not eligible to enter. This contest is subject to all federal, state, and local regulations. Offer void where restricted or prohibited. Random House Inc. will not be responsible for payment of taxes on the value of any prize awarded hereunder.

V. By entering, entrants agree to abide by these rules, and release Random House, Inc., its parent company, subsidiaries, affiliates, suppliers and agents from any and all liability for injuries, losses, or damages of any kind caused by participation in the sweepstakes or relating to the prize.

VI. The winners will be notified by email on or about May 15, 2009 and winner and winner’s parent/legal guardian if winner is under 18 may be required to sign and return affidavit(s) of eligibility and release of liability within 7days of notification.  A noncompliance within that time period or the return of any notification as undeliverable will result in disqualification and the selection of an alternate winner...
