From 24 to 36 months, your child may be:
Talking in four- and five-word sentences
Developing her own tastes and preferences
Rhyming, playing with words and sounds, and making up her own nonsense words

Tips for reading with your 24- to 36-month-old:
Encourage your child to choose her own books and don't be surprised if she asks
to read the same book over and over again; repetition encourages her to "read"
the story to you and talk about her favorite parts.
Sing and listen to favorite songs over and over and make up new verses together. Make up fun songs using your child's favorite words and melodies.

Explore the world around you! Naming things as you walk around the neighborhood helps your child recognize labels and will help build her vocabulary
