Dear Magic Tree House Readers,
What's the latest news?
Well, Magic Tree House #42, A Good Night for Ghosts is finally here! On this latest Merlin Mission, Jack and Annie visit New Orleans, Louisiana in 1915 and have a great adventure with the "King of Jazz" Louis Armstrong. They have a big job convincing 15 year-old Louis that he's destined to be one of the world's great musicians -- but a dozen ghosts finally help them! I loved working on this book because one of my favorite cities in the world is New Orleans and one of my favorite musicians of all time is Louis Armstrong.
Another news flash: My sister Natalie's newest Magic Tree House Research Guide is out with this new Merlin Mission. And guess what it's called? Ghosts! This book is filled with facts and information about ghosts and haunted houses. It's very spooky and lots of fun.
And here is the latest news about my husband Will's production of Magic Tree House: The Musical. The national tour was a great success. The show visited over 50 cities, and Will and I were able to go to many of those cities and make lots of new friends. The cast and crew and more than twenty life-sized puppets, fairy dancers, giant dragons, a flying stag, and huge red knight are all taking a little break now. Until the show is back on the road, you can hear all the music on the CD. Check out the show’s website: www.MTHMusical.com to find out how to get the CD -- and also, to see lots of cool stuff about the musical itself.

One more piece of good news: Little Bear, Joey and Mr. Bezo, our three dogs, are having a great summer. They're digging in the dirt, swimming in the lake, and taking long hikes in the woods. Will and I are always running to keep up with them. When I'm not chasing "the boys," I'm working on a new book. I just completed one about Ireland, called Leprechauns in Late Winter, which will come out next winter. I had a wonderful time working on it. But now I'm onto the next adventure -- which I'll tell you more about very soon.
Have a great summer -- read lots of books and takes lots of journeys in your imagination.
All my best,
Mary Pope Osborne
