Dear Magic Tree House Readers,
Lots of news flashes:
Magic Tree House #41, Moonlight on the Magic Flute just came out! Jack and Annie visit the Summer Palace in Vienna, Austria in the 1760's and search for a great artist whom they're supposed to help. I loved working on this book, as my family lived in Austria for three years when I was a child. My brothers and sister and I visited our old home a few years ago, and that's when I first had the idea to write this book.
And speaking of my sister, Natalie, her most recent Magic Tree House Research Guide is out: Leonardo Da Vinci. If you want to learn lots of amazing facts about one of the greatest geniuses who ever lived, this is a great book to read. It's the companion non-fiction book to MTH #38, Monday with a Mad Genius (now out in paperback).
And the latest news about my husband Will's production of Magic Tree House: The Musical (Watch the preview below) : The national tour of the show has been touring the country since September. The show has more than twenty life-sized puppets, giant dragons, a flying stag, knights and fairy dancers, a crystal cave, a bubbling cauldron, and of course, Jack and Annie! Our cast and crew are constantly amazed at how enthusiastic, lively and courteous our audiences are. So, if you're one of the kids who has seen the show, please consider yourself wonderful. And if you haven't see it -- you can hear all the music on the CD. Check out the show’s website: MTHMusical.com to find out how to get the CD -- and also, to see if the musical might be coming soon to your area.

One more piece of good news: Little Bear, our recently adopted dog, is getting along great with Joey and Mr. Bezo. Will captured a candid shot of me doing research for a book with all three boys in the chair with me. Sometimes it hard to get work done around here -- especially since I broke my finger and my wrist this winter by falling on the ice! But work did get done, as writing Magic Tree House books is too much fun to even take a break. So if you keep reading them, I'll keep writing them.
Life is good.
All my best,
Mary Pope Osborne
