What is the purpose of the Research Guides?
The Research Guides do two things:
- Provide kids with more information about the subjects introduced in
the regular series
- Introduce the concept of research to beginning readers and encourage
them to do more research on their own
Do Jack and Annie appear in the Research Guides?
Yes! Jack and Annie are featured throughout the Research Guides. They
provide an introduction to each book and offer interesting facts,
definitions, photo and illustration captions, and fun feature spreads
between chapters. They also end each book by encouraging young readers
to do their own research and suggesting further resources.
Is the reading level the same as for the regular series?
Yes! Magic Tree House fans should have no trouble reading
the Research Guides. Any difficult words are defined in the
margins, and pronunciation is provided in the text for historical
terms, proper names, etc. Each book also has an index.
Are there Teachers Guides for the series?
Yes! Each book in the series has a Teachers Guide available
online. The Teachers Guides will provide additional information
on the topic and suggest activities and classroom tie-ins.
