I. HOW TO ENTER
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. Enter by completing and mailing the
attached form OR by printing your name, address, phone number,
and birth date on a 3" x 5" index card and mail to:
Winnie the Pooh Sericel Sweepstakes, Random House Childrens
Books Marketing Department, 1540 Broadway, 23rd Floor, New York,
NY 10036. Entries must be mailed separately and received no
later than September 15, 2001. LIMIT ONE ENTRY PER PERSON.
II. ELIGIBILITY
This sweepstakes is open only to legal residents of the United States, excluding the state of Arizona and Puerto Rico, who are younger than the age of 16 as of January 1, 2001. All federal, state, and local regulations apply. Void wherever prohibited or restricted by law. Employees of Random House Inc., its respective parent, subsidiaries, and affiliates; their immediate families; and persons living in their household are not eligible to enter this sweepstakes. Random House is not responsible for lost, stolen, illegible, incomplete, postage-due, or misdirected entries.
III. PRIZE
There will be one (1) winner selected and one (1) prize granted. The winner will receive a Limited Edition Framed Sericel (Approximate retail value $350.00 U.S.). The prize cannot be exchanged for cash. Random House reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value in the event the offered prize is unavailable. No substitution or transfer of prize permitted except as provided herein.
IV. WINNER
Winner will be selected by random drawing on or about September
15, 2001 from all eligible entries received within the entry
deadline by the Random House Childrens Books Marketing
Department. By participation, entrants agree to be bound by
the official rules and the decision of the judges, which shall
be final and binding in all respects. Odds of winning depend
on the total number of entries received. All prizes will be
awarded in the name of the winners parent or legal guardian.
Winner will be notified by mail on or about September 22, 2001.
Taxes, if any, are the sole responsibility of winners
parent or legal guardian. Winners parent or legal guardian
will be required to execute and return, within 14 days of notification,
affidavits of eligibility and release. A noncompliance within
that time period or the return of any notification as undeliverable
will result in disqualification and the selection of an alternate
winner. In the event of any other noncompliance with rules and
conditions, prize may be awarded to an alternate winner.
V. RESERVATIONS
Winners parent or legal guardian, on winners behalf, grant Random House the right to use and publish their legal name and state of residence online and in printor any other mediain connection with the sweepstakes. Acceptance of a prize constitutes permission for Random House to use winners name and likeness for editorials, advertising, and promotional purposes without payment of additional compensation unless prohibited by law. By entering, participants parent and legal guardian release and hold harmless Random House Inc., their respective parent, subsidiaries, affiliates, directors, officers, employees, attorneys, agents, and representatives from any and all liability for any injuries, loss, claim, action, demand, or damage of any kind arising from or in connection with the sweepstakes or any prize won, any misuse or malfunction of any prize awarded, participation in any sweepstakes related activity, or participation in the sweepstakes. Other entry names will NOT be used for subsequent mail solicitation.
VI. NAME OF WINNER
For the name of the winner, after September 22, 2001, mail
a separate, self-addressed stamped envelope to: Winnie the Pooh
Sericel Sweepstakes, Random House Childrens Books Marketing
Department, 1540 Broadway, 23rd Floor, New York, NY 10036. Washington
and Vermont residents may omit return postage.
