Entries will be accepted April 1-29. National winners in each category will receive a cash award of $5,000 or $10,000.

The High School Competition is open to all high school students. The Two-Year College Competition is open to first- and second-year full-time students enrolled in community colleges, junior colleges, and technical colleges. The Four-Year College Competition is open to current full-time undergraduate students.

"Marjane's book was a natural choice given the recent events in Iran," said Marie Field, chair of the citywide literacy program. One Book, which is entering its eighth year, will feature more than 100 lectures, discussion groups, and workshops at numerous venues throughout the city. Organizers also will help coordinate high school programs for students in 10th grade and up.
