Tomcat in Love is the new novel by the author of Going After Cacciato--winner of the 1979 National Book Award and perhaps the definitive novel of the Vietnam War. It is an inventive, ironic, and humorous story about a man, Thomas Chippering, torn between two all-consuming but diametrically opposed obsessions: his desperate need to win back his wife, and his compulsive desire to test his erotic charms with every woman he meets. A New York Times Notable Book.
