ABOUT THE AUTHOR

 
Christopher Collier is a retired professor of American history at the University of Connecticut and State Historian, and was a visiting professor at Yale University, New York University, and elsewhere. He is the author of many books and articles on early American history, including Roger Sherman's Connecticut: Yankee Politics and the American Revolution, the standard work on the subject.

James Lincoln Collier is the author of many books on historical and biographical subjects, including the highly acclaimed The Making of Jazz. He has also written widely on the social sciences, especially for American school systems. Together, the brothers have published six works of historical fiction for children, including the award-winning My Brother Sam is Dead.
