Stephen Duncombe

Stephen Duncombe teaches Politics and History of Media and Culture at the Gallatin School of New York University. He is the author of Notes from Underground: Zines and the Politics of Alternative Culture and editor of Cultural Resistance: A Reader. He is the coauthor of The Bobbed Haired Bandit, along with Andrew Mattson, who he met when they were both students at the Graduate Center of the City University of New York. Since that time they have coedited a fanzine of historical primary documents, cohosted a show on a pirate radio station, cowritten scholarly articles, and taught together.
