. about us

Random House’s High School web site presents, by discipline, books published by Random House LLC’ s various adult imprints appropriate for grades 9-12. Whether you are looking for classics, the best of contemporary fiction, poetry and drama, or award-winning books of history and science, you will find a broad array of worthwhile books for your curriculum needs. We also offer many influential and inspiring titles on teaching, educational psychology, child development and test preparation.

This site reflects and continues the important intellectual tradition with which Random House has long been identified. As the American publisher of William Faulkner, Albert Camus, Willa Cather, James Joyce, Ray Bradbury, Ralph Ellison, Franz Kafka, Anne Frank, Richard Hofstadter, and Lorraine Hansberry, as well as Toni Morrison, Stephen Hawking, James Watson, Elie Wiesel, Maxine Hong Kingston, and Maya Angelou, Random House is committed to publishing intellectually important and widely significant works.

In addition to our searchable catalog of over 2,000 high school-appropriate titles, you can use this site to:

  • submit requests for examination and desk copies
  • print teacher's guides and author profiles
  • request print catalogs
  • access our school-year calendar which includes reminders about important events and anniversaries pertinent to classroom discussion, listings of Random House titles that apply to these events, and our academic conference schedule
  • view our lists of our award-winners and suggested reading titles for independent and reluctant readers
  • sign up for our monthly high school e-Newsletter, which provides advance information about new titles for the classroom and for professional development, as well as opportunities to receive free books, posters, bookmarks, and other materials to liven up your classroom

We welcome your views not only about this website, but the Random House books you assign to your students. Please be sure to include the title of the book and the name of the class in which the book is being used along with your full name, position/title, and high school. Email these comments and all other correspondence to highschool@randomhouse.com or write to the address provided below.
