Camp Peary
Spy School for the CIA near Williamsburg, VA. Officially, Camp Peary does not exist. The 10,000-acre site--also known as "The Farm"--is supposedly a Department of Defense facility called the Armed Forces Experimental Training Activity.
Students, called Career Trainees, take an 18-week course in "operational intelligence" or tradecraft. If they get through the course, they begin working as intelligence officers and case officers for the Directorate of Operations--the CIA's clandestine service, or, as some CIA people call it, "the spy shop."
Some CIA officers receive additional paramilitary training at Harvey Point, N.C., and at U.S. special forces training areas in Panama, and in isolated areas of the United States.
