Dog Drag
Device developed by the U.S. Office of Strategic Services during World War II that released a
"persistent aromatic scent" when dragged behind an agent to throw dogs off the scent of the
agent during a chase.
The British employed a hot-pepper device, but it burned the dogs' nostrils and thus
revealed that the agent was being followed.
