XYZ Committee
One of the informal groups of people who traded information while working
privately in the 1930s to prepare Britain for war. Other groups were called
Focus and Electra. They were watched over by William Stephenson, then a
confidant on intelligence of Winston Churchill, who was out of power at the
time. Stephenson was later chief of the British Security Co-ordination network
operating out of New York City.
