About 3,000 people lost their lives in the terrorist
attacks on New York City and Washington, D.C., on September
11, 2001. Thousands more narrowly escaped, their survival
a result of eerily prescient spur-of-the-moment decisions,
acts of superhuman courage, the unfailing kindness of strangers,
and, in some cases, fortuitous strokes of luck.
This forum is a space for the survivors
of September 11. Please email nine11oralhistory@hotmail.com
your personal thoughts about the stories in the book, stories
from that tragic day, or post messages to fellow survivors,
families of survivors, or families of the victims. You may
also ask questions to the author, Dean Murphy.
After sharing your stories in the forum,
you may want to join us for one of our special memorial events
being held in the New York/New Jersey and Washington, DC areas.
If you are a survivor, or if one of your friends, family or
loved ones were survivors or victims, please join us for one
of these evenings of remembrance.
Details can be found on the Memorial
Dates page.
