THE EIGHT CONTEST

The Eight spans history and the globe to tell its incredible story, and is packed with information and obscure details about any and every subject upon which the plot touches. And all those details are not perfectly accurate! In the book are at least five factual errors (including historical inaccuracies--not including typographical errors) that the author never got around to correcting.

To pay homage to the sometimes-unattainable goal of factual accuracy, the Ballantine Publishing Group awarded a specially signed first edition of The Magic Circle to people who e-mailed us a list of five factual errors they found in The Eight.

The deadline was April 1, 1998. Katherine Neville went over the lists in early April and prizes were be sent out in early May. Soon her original list of five factual errors, plus commentary on the entrants' lists, will be posted here.
