LETTER FROM LORNA
Hello Book Clubbers! I am thrilled to be among you.
After the publication of my first book, Patty Jane's House of Curl, I began getting invitations to speak at book clubs (I've been to more than one hundred of them) and I am such a fan that I wrote a book about one—Angry Housewives Eating Bon Bons.
I've been to book clubs that meet in community centers, restaurants, country clubs, and homes; book clubs that are just starting and ones that have been together since WW II. The composition of a book club is inevitably the same—they're full of spirited, fun, curious and opinionated women—my kind of gals! Most book clubs recognize that the discussion is the star of the show, but often rousing social hours and tasty appetizers are present. My own book club has been together seven years and we enjoy appetizers and dessert. And did I mention the wine?
Thank you so much for inviting me into your book club vis a vis my DVD—which you can order for free at www.lornalandvik.com.
I had a lot of fun making it and I hope that you have fun watching it. Please remember, the camera not only adds 15 pounds, but 15 years—in reality, I look more like Angelina Jolie than this DVD would suggest.
I raise my glass to all of you enlightened women in book clubs.
