1. What makes The Formula program different from other plans?

A: The Formula works, and is different, because it recommends and teaches balanced nutrition. It focuses on the ideal balance of 40% carbohydrates, 30% proteins, and 30% fats to maximize your body's ability to burn stored body fat for energy. It offers a personalized nutrition program (for your size, gender and activity level) and is very easy to follow (so that an entire family can use it).

2. Why are Americans getting so fat?

A: Many people simply eat too many calories for their individual requirements and lead very inactive lives. To determine the correct ratio for a particular meal, multiply the grams of carbohydrate and protein by 4 and fat grams by 9. Then divide each calorie count by the total calories to determine the percentage of calories.

5. 30% fat sounds high. Is it?

A: No. 30% fat fits within the guidelines of most successful health organizations. The Formula recommends "good" fatsaefats that are unprocessed and occur naturally in foods. The best sources are raw nuts and seeds, olives and olive oil, avocados, and vegetable oils. "Good" fats have proven to help people lose weight, burn fat and prevent disease.
