“The choice is yours: Enjoy a delicious meal of, say, veal fantarella with
grilled vegetables. Or spend a quiet hour reading David Gregory’s book. You may
find an altogether different sort of hunger has been sated by the final page.
Brilliant in its simplicity, fearless in its presentation of the truth, Dinner
with a Perfect Stranger is one invitation you’ll want to RSVP.”

READER REVIEWS
I always wanted to have dinner with Jesus and my dream has come true.
I wanted to stay at the dinner table and never let Jesus go. Wow. Thank
you- Belle
I want everyone to read this book: the 65 year old man who says God has
left him, he's never invited God into his life; the 40-year Christian
man who's trying to decide if God is calling him to the ministry, I'm
certain he has; to my friends who are always looking for a good Christian
book - it's about our Friend. This was so enjoyable and the last page
was the perfect climax. Thank you so much. -Mary Lou Smith
I finished the book, cried a little and cannot tell you how much I enjoyed
the story. I seem to live whatever book I read, so I fell right into the
spell that Nick was experiencing. Thank you for the great story. – Anonymous
I was browsing through the bookstore's inspiration section, looking for
something to give me light...on what, I wasn't sure. I'm a young, married
mother of two at a point in my life where I need answers, peace....something
positive to let me know I'm on the right track. This book was so uplifting.
So many questions of uncertainty were answered for me. It really makes
me look at things in a different way and makes me want to explore my relationship
with God further than I have ever wanted to. Thank you to David Gregory
for opening my eyes....and my heart. -- Jennifer
Innovative and inspiring, Dinner With a Perfect Stranger should be shared
with everyone we know. I've always been afraid of sharing Christ with
unsaved friends because I've no head for remembering Bible verses and
quotes and details. I have been afraid that I would do more harm than
good. But this book answers the hard questions we all ask, so clearly
and concisely that I feel I can finally come down "off the fence"
and step into the role God asks of His children. - Anonymous
Never has a book other than the Bible had such an emotional impact on
me. I was in tears the entire time I was reading. --Sincerely, Mary McCormick
Just finished the book, couldn't put it down. Read it all in just a few
hours and have already thought of many people that I love who need to
read this book. What a wonderful insight into the love of God. Thanks
so much for writing it. It will be a keeper. - Gwyn
Nick's character appealed to me because he seems like an average American
working man trying to find hiss way to God. I can relate to Nick's character
because sometimes I have to see things to believe them. This story taught
me that even though you might not be able to see God, He is always there.
- Sincerely, Hannah B.
My wife and I just finished reading your book Dinner with a Perfect Stranger.
It tied in to what we have been going through in our own lives. Thank
you! It was the most emotional connection to Jesus that we have ever had.
Nothing compares to the bible, but this book is wonderful. The Holy Spirit
must have been with you when you wrote this. It seemed as if Jesus wrote
this to us. Thank you again. - Kyle and Mitzi
I just finished reading Dinner With a Perfect Stranger. I loved it, it
was awesome. I’m giving it to my 12 year old niece to read. I had a conversation
with her tonight about Jesus and I’m stunned to see how confused she is.
I believe you book is a great resource to help people understand God,
Jesus and his free gift. Thanks so much. - YBIC
It gave me some new perspectives on Jesus. It is refreshing to see Jesus
in a modern day setting. The Jewish people saw Him in their time, thank
you for daring to meet Him in what we are familiar with in our times.
-Barbra
There were times, while reading, that I was relieved I was alone because
of the tears. This is a wonderful premise--a cynic having dinner with
one of the objects of his cynicism. And to see how a cynic can go through
a heart change by realizing he is with The King of Kings and the Lord
of Lords. – Anonymous
I came in from work and sat down to read, I WAS SO BLESSED. As Christians
we so often get so caught up with "Church" that we forget about
Christ. We go to church, to bible study, to church functions, and we often
forget about who it is that we are really going to see. Thank you so much
for allowing me to see God wants more of me and will interrupt my evening
to do so. – Anonymous
My feeling as I was reading the book was I wish I were the one sitting
at the table. I want the invitation to come to me. I would even be satisfied
to be a waiter or busboy at the table; I just want to be in the presence
of Jesus. When he was told why he received the invitation for some reason
this touched my soul and the tears would not stop flowing. – Beth Card
It really makes you ponder over the fact that Jesus really is with us
day in and out. He really cares about us and knows our hearts. He loves
us so much greater than we can imagine. I only hope that this book reaches
the homes of the unsaved. What a great ministry has borne out of this
book! Thank you, I will recommend this to everyone. - Regina Crane
I purchased this book and read it from cover-to-cover in just over an
hour. This is such a great book and I hope it becomes a Top Ten Best Seller.
I've sent an email to all of my family and friends telling them that this
is a "Must-Read" in my opinion. A very well written, amazing
book. Thank you! - Karen R.
There were times my mouth would drop and then there were other times I
would say YEAH... and there were times I couldn't say anything, just cry.

Thought this book was “Little but Mighty." – Anonymous
It made me long for my invitation. What a brilliant concept...Jesus across
from you at dinner, and in a suit and tie. I laughed, and I cried when
Nick asks…"How do you say goodbye to Jesus?" – Beth Reynolds
This book is a powerhouse, both for Christians and non-Christians. Simply
amazing. I, like so many others could not put it down, so in two sittings,
I have cried my way completely through it, all the while celebrating and
validating the Biblical truths that I have long since known but with joy
revisited through your book in such a warm, personal way. I too cannot
wait to share copies of this book with others. Thank you for an incredible
literary gift that no doubt will spawn spiritual renewal for many. - Beth
Each year I select a book to be given with every Christmas gift. This
year it is going to be, Dinner with a Perfect Stranger. Thank you. – Sandra

If C.S. Lewis had written Mere Christianity today, I think it might have
come out something like David Gregory's Dinner with a Perfect Stranger.
What an amazing defense of the Gospel coupled to real life definitions
and examples of basic concepts and tenants of the faith! Well done, good
and faithful servant! – Anonymous
Regardless of culinary preference, this "Dinner" is not to be
missed! This is one thoroughly captivating, highly illuminating, absolutely
unforgettable read-of-a-lifetime! It's anointing jumps straight from the
text into your heart...as you're left begging for the next 100 pages!
--Anonymous
I have not come across a more straightforward, honest, fascinating writing!
The genius is in it's simplicity. Just as Jesus Himself is honest and
true, so is Dinner With a Perfect Stranger. Get it into the hands of anyone
who wants to be encouraged, inspired or is merely searching for the truth.
-Elayne Barnett
David, Your book was a joy to read. A great lesson for all of us who have
put work first and family and God second. Thanks. - Bob Bacon
I finished this book in an afternoon with tears in my eyes and an even
stronger desire to invite Jesus into my heart than I had when I began
reading it. I was going through a difficult time in my life when I read
it, and it helped me to realize that only I can make the changes/differences
in my life. Thank you and I pray that I will have the courage to see it
through. - lb
The title intrigued me. The first chapter hooked me. The conversation
challenged me. The final words broke me. Even though the storyline is
well-crafted fiction, the TRUTH is inescapable. As Jesus said to Nick
over coffee, God reveals himself to us using whatever means he wishes.
I have to believe that God will use this fictional encounter to deliver
the message of his gift of eternal life and his desire for authentic intimacy.
My Bible will always be my guide; however, this characterization of Jesus
Christ will enhance my mental image of him when reading the Bible. --
Wendy
The title says it all... Jesus is perfect and for so many of us, a stranger.
We need Jesus to not be a stranger but rather our friend, our beloved
savior. I will share this book with my daughters and with others, and
frankly it was just what I needed. I so very much wish I could sit down
to talk with Jesus, just like this, and yet the truth is, I can, by simply
praying. I think we would all like those personal moments and would like
to ask Him questions and talk and see Him. I guess we will just have to
wait, but for now, we at least have this lovely little book that can be
read in a short period of time ( for me only one hour) and we can think
about it and re live it and imagine it is us with Jesus. Thanks to the
author for writing this, for many it will be quite profound. God bless
him for writing it for us. – Anonymous
Once I picked up your book I couldn't put it down. I suddenly experienced
an appetite of my own - to hear more of what Jesus had to say. I felt
that he was reminding me personally of just how much he loves me. I had
ordered your book through our book club and was for some reason sent two
copies. Now I have one to give to my dear friends as their 50th wedding
anniversary gift; I want to keep mine to read again. Thank you! – Anonymous
All I can say is “wow”!!! I just read your book - I feel an incredible
closeness with my 'personal' Savior after finishing your story. Thank
you for writing this book!!! I just gave it to my husband...a non-believer
with all of the same questions as Nick in your book. I have been praying
for Jesus to enter my husband's heart for months now. I hope this is the
tool that truly penetrates his heart. Thank you so very very much! – Anonymous
Never have I read a book that so moved me as to cause my hands to shake
with tremors of joy as each passage crossed my eyes. Revelation 3:20 was
a beautiful end to a great gift to the world. As my faith grows, it is
nice to know that there are those that have even more than my little measure
that I so cherish. Thanks again for the charity! – Anonymous
I bought the book for a friend going through her second bought with cancer.
I thought the jacket information sounded interesting so I purchased two
copies, one for her and one for me. I LOVED the book and know she will
too! What a great idea to be able to spread the good news. As a young
adult I can remember being asked the question "Who's the one person
I would want to have dinner with dead or alive?" I always answered
the question with Jesus. After reading this book several of my questions
were answered and I came up with other questions to ask Jesus when that
opportunity arrives for me to meet him face to face. Thanks for writing
such a refreshing book for our world today. I would love to know what
Nick does with his lesson from and dinner with Jesus. God Bless, Kathy
Hearne
Thank you, thank you, for this wonderful book. A friend gave it to me
and I was just going to read a page or two before bed. I finished it at
2 o'clock in the morning and was just thrilled. I would like to buy bunches
and hand them out on street corners. - Sharon
Thank you for inviting me to dinner...I felt as if I was a hungry mouse
in the restaurant and the best morsels of the evening were the words exchanged
between these two men. The book was a birthday gift from an out-of-state
friend, a treasure indeed. - Kristi Oberg
The more I read, the more it felt like I was the one sitting at the dinner
table with Jesus. By the last page I literally felt a spiritual "buzzing"
of the Lord's presence in me, reminding me that as long as He's welcome,
He is present with us at every meal, and at every moment. Thank you again,
and God bless you! Yours in Christ, Carmen Aquila
Thanks for giving us such a unique and warm approach to humanity's Central
Figure. - Richard Epes
Your book is a life experience. I just lost my 50 year old son to a massive
unexpected heart attack, and your book has helped me SO much. I wish he
could’ve read it. Your book has helped me accept George's going home to
Jesus. God has a reason, and I have faith that God was doing what was
best for my son. Just as God did what He had to do for HIS son. What a
beautiful peace you have brought me. Thank you and God Bless you. -Virginia

I read it in one sitting! And cried. Tears of joy at being "with
Jesus". Tears of regret for not having the depth of relationship
with Him I so desire! It's almost too much to take in! May He truly touch
others as He has me! – Cathy Adams
Though I've been a Christian for over 35 years, it's like I became re-acquainted
with an old Friend. I'm a Baptist minister, but this little book made
me cry. With a beautiful simplicity it reminds us of the unfailing love
of the Father and the Son who revealed Him. Very well done. I've ordered
copies for my daughter and my sister. Thank You, Clyde E. Phillips
How I wish I could receive an invitation to have dinner with the Lord.
I actually felt jealous when I was reading this book. Nick was so lucky!!
– Anonymous
Although I am a skeptic, I was drawn to this book at my local library.
I was anxious to see what this book was about and could hardly put it
down till I was finished. I found myself asking the same questions and
hearing lots of answers to other questions. Maybe I'll get my own personal
dinner invitation. – Catherine Daniel
I truly enjoyed the book Dinner with a Perfect Stranger. I have been questioning
myself lately about my relationship or non-relationship with Jesus. This
has been the most thought provoking book I have read in quite some time.
It is as if the book was written specifically for me. Thank You! Thank
You! I am going to suggest that it be read by all my family members. -
Shirley
This is one of the best books I have read in a long time. Believing myself
to be a pretty good Christian, it opened my eyes to the fact that there
were many places in my life where I was falling way short. But it did
not matter, he loves me anyway because I love him and we are together.
This book has also shown me many ways to reach others I have been trying
so hard to reach, just as I am sure the Lord intended when He gave Mr.
Gregory the idea and ability to write it.
Thank you so much and keep them coming. I will be on the lookout for more
of Mr. Gregory’s work. - Theresa Hunt
Maybe, as we all stand around asking, demanding, miracles from God to
prove that He exists, He sometimes decides to send one - as in this small
book. If you can read this and get through the last page without feeling
a welling up of faith and hope, you should read it again. -Patricia Arline

I just finished reading Dinner With a Perfect Stranger. When I first started
reading I never thought it would bring me to tears; towards the very end
I broke down. I am a 30 year old mother of 4. I accepted Christ 3 years
ago. It has been a long road. I have had many questions even now. The
book touched on many of those and was just spiritually “refreshing"
in a sense. The author did a great job on bringing Jesus to "Life”.
-Brenda Simpkins
I would treasure a dinner with The Perfect Stranger and know that this
book has the ability to make Jesus real in many lives. Jesus was real
in my life before I read the book but I know deep in my heart that God
wants a one to one relationship with me and Jesus restored the fellowship
that was broken in the Garden of Eden. Tension fades and hope is reborn:
what we seek -- love. As the hymn goes ...How do I know He lives? He lives
within my heart. – Anonymous
I am a Christian, have been for many years. But this is what I've been
going through the last 2 years. I was around people who professed their
faith but didn't live it or lived it very righteously or didn't know Jesus
at all but claimed His name. Thank you for this book. I am no longer struggling
with who I am in HIM. Just this morning at church I had journaled I need
to learn to live in Him and enjoy it only. Quit striving!! God Bless you
and the many lives this book will touch through the power of the Holy
Spirit. - Terrye Lucas
It took a subject that we often try to complicate and made it so simple
and understandable. The explanation that when we accept Christ we are
not only forgiven but that God lives in side of us was extremely powerful
for me. Thank you. -Greg Ryan
I have just finished reading this book, and although I profess to live
a spirit-filled life, with Jesus, this book put it all into excellent
context for me, and I was simply moved to tears at the beauty of it all.
I read this book for 2 hours nonstop till I finished it, it is a life
changing book, one that I will recommend to all my Christian friends.

Thank you, thank you. It was exactly what I needed at this point in my
life. The author did an amazing job, I wish to thank him. Humbly, Debby
Weber
Great book! Thanks to David Gregory for writing this. I'm not sure what
my church will do with this, but it can't have crossed our path by accident.
-Pastor Barb Kenley
I enjoyed your book so much - the premise was delightful. I laughed out
loud at the witty dialogue and was left with a very nice feeling upon
completion. Congratulations and well done. I’ve told all my friends-who
are looking forward to their dinner with a perfect stranger. Best regards-
Sharon
To anyone who believes that God last inspired writing 1,850 years ago,
I would recommend Dinner With a Perfect Stranger. David Gregory has amazingly
processed what only God could have poured into his heart. This book is
nothing short of amazing in its comprehensiveness, conciseness and simplicity.
-Robert McBurnett
I'm an avid reader, but not of fiction. But this fiction piece kept me
both entertained and raising some of the main characters same questions
in my own mind. I also tried to imagine how I would respond, both to such
an invitation and during the course of the actual dinner conversation.
This book has to be one of the most well-written books I've read in quite
some time. I would highly recommend to any Christian who feels complacent
in their faith. -Gus Keiser
I wasn't looking for this book... stumbled upon it, no, led to it most
assuredly! I walked away from my relationship with God some time ago and
as it was confirmed in the dialogue of this book that God is trying to
rebuild His relationship with us... with ME. Jesus saved me on October
13th, 1985 when I was sixteen. Here now at 35 I have had my back against
the door I once opened- refused to acknowledge His voice on the other
end. I Praise God he never stopped lovingly talking to me. I finished
reading Dinner With a Perfect Stranger with the verse Revelations 3:20
and... I've re-opened the door! Thank You Jesus! –Ron
The book has stirred a "need" to read it. I am so thrilled to
lend it to anyone who wants to read it. I just downloaded the group discussion
guides which i know will come in handy when they have questions after
reading the book. Thank you so very much for your passion to write such
a beautiful book. –Anonymous
Thank you for writing this outstanding book. It is so wonderfully written.
Fantastic dialog! A real image of Jesus that I want to keep in my heart
and mind every day. A Savior that is personable, funny, sharp and most
of all, loving. I have been a Christian all my life and share the perceptions
you described, but I've never read them in such context. It was a joy
to read...and I can only pray a movie to be made some day! - John Weathersby
I started reading it while waiting for my wife in Wal-Mart this afternoon
and just finished it, the same day! I think that is a first for me. I
am sure that everyone who reads it will think of another set of questions
they would ask Jesus but that is the ministry of the book, people will
ask the questions. David Gregory took a chance bringing Jesus Christ to
earth again in today’s world but he pulled it off with taste and respect.
Very well written, I will be looking for other works by David Gregory.
Sincerely, Tim Lamb
I just wanted you to know that this was the single most powerful and inspiring
book I have ever read. Although I have always known that this is the way
it was, it was comforting to see it in print. I have told everyone about
this wonderful book. Thank you so much for my much needed re-inspiration!!!!
Kimberley Snell
I like how the author handled the character of Jesus as a modern day man.
It was interesting to see how he used all the common excuses that we try
to use when sharing Christ with others or when we ask others about their
relationship with Christ. I also appreciated how the author used the character
of Jesus to explain the other world "religions" so that a person
could see the difference between true Christianity (a loving, close relationship
with Jesus) and other religions that claim to be true! I believe this
book would be wonderful to share with a non-Christian because it goes
through all the same emotions, feelings, and thoughts as Nick does. I
truly enjoyed the book and would highly recommend it to others. -Julie

I just finished Mr. Gregory's book and I was left with an overwhelming
feeling of awe. I do not know of any book that I have ever read that has
had such a profound affect on me. I realize the book is "fiction"
but the message is far from fiction. It has only been two days since I
read the book and I can't stop talking about it. I have purchased (thus
far) five copies of the book to share with friends and family. Thank you,
Mr. Gregory, so much for sharing your book with me and the world. - Lynn
I'm so glad my friend told me about this book and I accepted the invitation
to the read and the dinner. Starting at page 1, I was there with Nick
and definitely felt as if I was sitting at the table dining with Jesus
and Nick. As I neared the end of the book, I didn't want the story to
end and leave the space I was in. Lots to think about now and I hope I'll
be a better person, closer to Jesus, letting God in. – Maureen
This is the best book I have read in years. In fact, I liked it so much
I have read it a second time. What a great read and what a wonderful apologetics
tool. Sincerely, James Eberhart
What can I say? You've given us a gift to share with the saved and more importantly the unsaved. I didn't want it to end, I felt as if I was there with Jesus, and in reality I was. I felt His presence through every page. Thank you. Blessings to you, Monika Corey
Wow! What an awesome book! I read it in 2 nights, (should have read it in 1 night), but always like to drag out a good book! Plus, I personally like for the material to sink into me…Look forward to seeing the sequel come out!” God Bless, Polly Tracy
How could He know...I’ve prayed and prayed for a way to hear.....I had no intention of opening USA Today in that hotel room, but there was a
gnawing feeling I had to read the book review section. There it was....a
quarter page description. The whole drive back to Pittsburgh, I knew I
had to purchase the book. When I went to Borders, the inventory said it
had copies, but no one could fine them. I wasn’t leaving until they did.....and
they found it. I know God was with me the entire way. Read the book and
had gooseflesh the whole time! --Anonymous
This book is absolutely brilliant! I read it yesterday in one sitting,
but plan on reading it again more slowly. I have recommended it to every
Christian I know. Thank you for writing such a beautiful and enlightening
book! --Mici Steger
I've just finished reading this fantastic book and thoroughly enjoyed
it, and have been challenged by it. I want to get several copies for friends.
This book has helped me cope with some challenges to my faith (some might
call it doubts) that I have been struggling to settle. Thank you, David,
for putting our thoughts into words! --Nelle Swindell
Kudos to David Gregory for writing this wonderful book. I thoroughly
enjoyed reading it and will recommend this book to family and friends.
I found the style of writing similar to the 2 Mitch Albom books (Tuesdays
with Morrie and The Five People You Meet in Heaven) which were both excellent
books as well. Keep up the good work! --Anonymous
Just as Jesus is....captivating! Questions that fill the book are questions
that even the most “committed” of believers ponder at times. Biblical,
human, and rich with that which we all seek...to be “full,” fed...and
satisfied with that which will never require us to be hungry again. Jesus,
GOD the Father, Holy Spirit...a feast beyond compare....and truly a meal
that the soul and spirit long for. Thank you David for putting our human
thoughts in such a delightful light. May it be the source of many people
finding that eternal hunger fed. Dinner with Jesus indeed....may the banqueting
table be surrounded by HIS children. Blessings, Kay Graves, aka mama k
I just finished reading this awesome book. I was truly blessed. Thank
you David, for writing this book. God Bless You :) Sincerely, Brenda LaNite
I immensely enjoyed this book. I am planning to share it with many of
my family and friends and will recommend it to anyone. --Bernice Frerichs
I'm 65 years old and have been a Christian all my life. I am so happy
with the book, Dinner with a Perfect Stranger. As I was reading
it, I felt a sweet closeness with Jesus and I did learn some great truths.
Thank you, David Gregory. --Barbara Johnston
Thank you for your contribution of wisdom, energy and hard work, it is
a wonderful book. May God bless you as you labor in His vineyard. Your
friend in Christ, Kelly Mallory
It’s funny, because I left my home in search for something, I was bored.
When I got to the store I looked over a few books nothing catching my
fancy, till I picked up your book. Then I read “You are Bored” I knew
I had to buy this book, God wanted to place it in my hands and I am so
glad he did. I couldn’t put it down, captivated by the story and conversation.
All I could think of was, I wish this was me. I cried at the end, it really
touched my heart as I know it will to others. --Thanks, Mancy
Wow, I didn’t want to put the book down. He really made me feel, that
I could understand how Jesus feels about us and what he has give us, the
Perfect gift. I would like to read more. I read my Bible daily, yet this
book gave me goose bumps and brought tears to my eyes. My 21 yr. old son
gave it to me, I gave it to my husband and he will give it to our 23 yr.
old son. --Gail Anderson
I don’t know why I purchased the book, not my normal choice. This is
coming from someone who would, too, have to dig to find their Bible. I
found myself unable to put the read down because I felt my own questions
being answered, or at least brought to the table. Nick is a good representative
for a lot of humanity. In a way I feel as though I received the invitation,
too. Thanks for making my spirit smile. --Reona Che' Bailey-McGee
A coworker brought this book to me at the office and said “Mary, I'm
going to let you read this book but you must give it back.” I read the
title and thought, I bet I know who the stranger is! I took it home and
read it right after dinner. I enjoyed it so much, I wished it were longer.
She was surprised when I returned it the next day and we discussed how
it gripped you and held your attention. I will also purchase one to share
with others as a witness. Thank you! --Anonymous
I just finished the book. VERY GOOD!! This is a book we will give to
many family and friends to read. Your portrait of Jesus as a man we can
relate to is right on. As we start the fall season, we are hosting a small
group for couples (through our church, Rolling Hills Community Church,
Wilsonville, Oregon). I think we might use this book to launch the first
meeting. Blessings, Jo Wold
I stumbled across this book at Sam’s club and was intrigued. I have to
say I just finished reading it. It was so amazing I was unable to put
it down for more than a moment. Mr. Gregory definitely touches on many
questions I’ve had or heard and the explanations and analogies are eye
opening and freeing. This book is awesome and I will absolutely spread
the word with a very high recommendation! Sincerely, Charla Caudill
After seeing the curious advertisement in Christianity Today and then
finding your book in the bookstore, I had to buy it. It was just too interesting
of a premise to pass up. I just finished reading it in one sitting and
it brought tears to my eyes. As a believer, I was touched by the intimacy
that Jesus holds for each of us. I am ready to buy your book for everyone
I come into contact with. Thank you for writing it and I PRAY it will
become a bestseller, it needs to be! --Deitra
I just finished reading your book. I have been looking for a book (besides
the Bible, which I do share) that would open the door and hopefully eyes
of others to Jesus. You have done an excellent job of telling a story,
but sharing Jesus. Thank you again, Karen L. Fralick
I think the book is absolutely wonderful. You actually get chills just
reading it. Great work! --Anonymous
I picked the book up at the Dallas-Fort Worth airport before a flight
and had it finished within an hour. What a creative way to present the
gospel. I gave it away to a friend at the other end and bought another
copy upon my return to DFW. This is a book that everyone, Christians &
non-Christians, should read. Thanks and God Bless, Joe Arciniega
How I would like to get an invitation like this one. I am going to purchase
this book for several family members and friends. It is the best explanation
and presentation of salvation that I have ever read. Hopefully, and I
am sure that it will, grab the person reading it and hold them to the
end. Thanks, Hank Hardman
I truly enjoyed the book, Dinner with a Perfect Stranger. It
was EXCELLENT! I rank it up next to The Five People You Meet in Heaven.
Reading your book came at such a great time too!! I have passed the book
on to my husband and sons. --Anonymous
I just finished reading Dinner with a Perfect Stranger and found
it both entertaining and thought-provoking. I’m an avid reader, but not
of fiction. But this fiction piece kept me both entertained and raising
some of the main characters same questions in my own mind. I also tried
to imagine how I would respond, both to such an invitation and during
the course of the actual dinner conversation. This book has to be one
of the most well-written books I’ve read in quite some time. I would highly

I now own 2 copies because I am sharing the first one with a friend.
I have read it twice in less than a week. I am drawn to it and with each
reading, I understand more. The first reading I had many questions…I will
also be giving this copy to another friend who needs support and clarity.
I enjoyed the book so much and plan on reading it several more times…thank
you!!! --Anonymous
My Pastor mentioned this book in his sermon on Sunday, I went straight
to the bookstore and purchased it. I could not put it down, I truly felt
as if I was having dinner with Jesus. I can’t wait to pass the book on,
to fellow believers and unsaved friends as well. God has blessed you with
a wonderful gift, Thank you for sharing it! In Christ, Debbie Price
I enjoyed Dinner with a Perfect Stranger very much. I am a 44-year
old married court reporter, Jewish, the mother of two teenage girls. The book was extremely well written.

On a recent trip to San Antonio, I was searching in the airport bookstore
for a new book to read. For whatever reason, I was drawn immediately to
this book. I read the first page and thought “this is it!” I took it with
me and read it over a three day period (I could have finished it sooner,
but I wanted to make it last). In a word...it touched me. I have read
Stroble's books and enjoyed them from a factual standpoint....but this
was different. It was warm engaging and touching. I was and am Nick Cominsky.
The timing was perfect for me to read this. Isn’t it funny how God works.
--John Gill
It’s wonderful how God speaks to us…I wasn't looking for this book...
stumbled upon it, no, lead to it most assuredly! I walked away from my
relationship with God some time ago and, as it was confirmed in the dialogue
of this book, God is trying to rebuild His relationship with us... with
ME. Jesus saved me on October 13th, 1985 when I was sixteen. Here now
at 35 I have had my back against the door I once opened... refused to
acknowledge His voice on the other end. I Praise God he never stopped
lovingly talking to me. I finished reading Dinner with a Perfect Stranger
with the verse Revelations 3:20...and I've re-opened the door! Thank You
Jesus! --Ron
I bought Dinner with a Perfect Stranger at the grocery and read
it within the next 24 hrs. I loved it SO much that I went back to the
grocery (ok, I admit it was on sale) and bought a second one, for a gift.
Then I ordered a third one from the local Christian bookseller, for another
gift. The owner of that shop was not familiar with this book but stocked
it in her store, due to my order. I RAVED about it to her AND I recommended
it to a co-worker, who also went out and bought it. Now her bookclub may
read it in the future. I went back and read the book for the second time
this weekend. I am mad about this book. I have always wanted to have dinner
with Jesus, am looking forward to that day in the future. Thank you for
a wonderful, helpful, witty, inspiring, terrific work. --Rebbecca Murphy
I have read your book and found it delightfully refreshing, both serious
and entertaining! I plan to give the book to my parents for a Christmas
gift. Sincerely, Roberta Hosler Gulfport
Thanks for a reassuring book…God is with us all the time. --Sandra Killian
I read the book over the weekend and thoroughly enjoyed it. Thanks for
taking the time to write such a lovely and endearing story. --Nanci Moy
Hello. I just finished your book. Excellent. It was the most stimulating
read I have had in quite some time. --Anonymous
I purchased your book last Saturday and sat down to read some of it on
Sunday. I couldn’t put it down, I finished it Sunday afternoon. What a
wonderful book you have written. I told my good friend about it and she
asked to borrow it, she received it and read it on Tuesday. My cousin
asked to borrow it and she received it today…Thank you so very much for
your passion to write such a beautiful book. --Tina M. Brown
David: Thank you for writing this outstanding book. It is so wonderfully
written. Fantastic dialogue! A real image of Jesus that I want to keep
in my heart and mind every day. A Savior that is personable, funny, sharp
and most of all, loving. I have been a Christian all my life and share
the perceptions you described, but I’ve never read them in such context.
It was a joy to read...and I can only pray a movie to be made some day!
Thank you again for allowing God to work through you in producing this
book. I have so many people that I intend on sharing it with that I plan
on buying a box of these books and giving them as gifts to many people
I work with who are the personification of “Nick.” Keep up the good work
with our “Father’s business.” Kindest regards, John Weathersby
Thank you so much, what a wonderful book. I started reading it while
waiting for my wife in Wal-Mart this afternoon and just finished it, the
same day! I think that is a first for me. I am sure that everyone who
reads it will think of another set of questions they would ask Jesus but
that is the ministry of the book, people will ask the questions. I felt
the topics were well handled and I learned from the discussions, mostly
things about other religions that I was not aware of. I struggled with
the explanation of how we give our life back to God and let Him live through
us, not because I had any disagreement with it, but until that point I
was thinking of a friend that I thought would benefit from this book.
The reality of a personal relationship with the Lord has been so difficult
for him to grasp and for me to explain I guess I was hoping for a new
approach, but there are only so many ways to state the truth without distorting
it. David Gregory took a chance bringing Jesus Christ to earth again in
today’s world but he pulled it off with taste and respect…very well written,
I will be looking for other works by David Gregory. Sincerely, Tim Lamb
I just wanted you to know that this was the single most powerful and
inspiring book I have ever read. Although I have always known that this
is the way it was, it was comforting to see it in print. I have told everyone
about this wonderful book. Thank you so much for my much needed re-inspiration!!!!
--Kimberley Snell
For David: A job well done. A great read and a great transformation.
Everything that Nick stuggles with, so do I. I felt I was invited to dinner
and, needing to lose 10 pounds, was able to stay away from the high calorie
earthly meal while loading up on the low carb spiritual manna…Again, thank
you for a beautiful book with more depth than any book 100 times its size.
Blessings, Jim Moeller
I enjoyed reading the book. Very interesting. Thank you, Donald M. Popowich
Thank you so much for writing such an fascinating book. I am an Asian
Christian reader living in Canada. Your idea (a dinner with Jesus) is
almost genius and I really liked the personality of the Lord Jesus portrayed
in your book. It was very helpful as you covered major religions and philosophies
which counter the Biblical Christianity. The book was such a page-turner
I finished in a single setting. I will surely refer to many people to
read it as your book was found well-balanced and intelligent…Please keep
publishing good books. God richly bless you and use your work mightily.
In Christ, Grace Kwon
LOVED THE BOOK IMMENSELY! --Anonymous
Loved this book!!! I'm telling everyone. There should be a movie. Tell
Mel Gibson!!! --Donna
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. I like how the author handled
the character of Jesus as a modern day man. It was interesting to see
how he used all the common excuses that we try to use when sharing Christ
with others or when we ask others about their relationship with Christ.
I also appreciated how the author used the character of Jesus to explain
the other world religions…I believe this book would be wonderful to share
with a non-Christian because it goes through all the same emotions, feelings,
and thoughts as Nick does. I truly enjoyed the book and would highly recommend
it to others. In Christ, Julie Turner
I really enjoyed the book and plan to share it! --Judy Messenger
I just finished Mr. Gregory’s book and I was left with an overwhelming
feeling of awe. I do not know of any book that I have ever read that has
had such a profound affect on me. I realize the book is “fiction” but
the message is far from “fiction.” It has only been twodays since I read
the book and I can’t stop talking about it. I have purchased (thus far)
five copies of the book to share with friends and family. Thank you, Mr.
Gregory, so much for sharing your book with me and the world. --Lynn
A friend gifted me with your book for my recent birthday; I completed
it last night. Your story is unique, charming, and it touched my heart.
Thank you for sharing JESUS in such a special way. Please continue doing
so. All for Him, Gail Sensebe
I loved the book. Very hard to put down. For me it ended a little too
soon. I know it couldn’t have been much longer, then it would be preachy
and it was the perfect length. There were times when I felt a little more
attention needed to be given to the loss of his father or walking through
his final reaction to the evening and his decision and acceptance. Not
more than another paragraph or two. I would like to get a copy for each
of my children who are not walking with the Lord. Is there a sequel planned?
Thanks so much and God Bless you, Mary Handley
