Look for the Library to light up with a Who's Who of celebrated scriveners including Terry Brooks (the bestselling fantasist), Anne Rice (well-loved around these parts for her eerie elan), Michael Crichton, Anne Perry, Ray Bradbury, Carl Sagan, John Irving, Jane Smiley, R. A. Salvatore, Marge Piercy, Gail Godwin, Harry Turtledove, Allan Cole, Jon Hassler, Sharyn McCrumb, William Diehl, etc. etc. in a list of literary luminaries that stops just short of infinity for obvious reasons (such as the length of the buffet table and the number of available folding chairs).
Rumors that bestselling maestro of the macabre John Saul will appear continue to buzz like some sort of... sinister insects or something, but the Head Librarian could offer us no confirmation.
"He's awfully busy with some big project, he told me," Ms. Wagner told us in hushed tones, "but he assured me he'd love to make an appearance if it's at all possible. He's dropped by Blackstone before, and says he feels very at home here. We'll just have to cross our fingers and see. Meanwhile, wasn't that copy of The Catcher in the Rye you checked out due last week?"
Oops! That was our cue to skedaddle...
