Yes, BB hits me right on the funnybone, too. He also manages to point out some social discrepancies along the way.
I seldom read any book more than once BB's are among that very select few............

New ones are always welcome, however.

I'm a huge fan of Bill Bryson and have read all of his books---some of them several times. I just finished reading my absolute favorite, "A Walk in the Woods" for the 7th or 8th time and always find it just as hilarious as it was the first time.

Whenever I have a friend who is feeling down, I give them a copy of "A Walk In The Woods", if that doesn't make them laugh nothing will.
BTW, Sidney Portier said in an interview that Bill is his favorite author. His own bio is also a very good read.
