The J*A*P Chronicles Contest

Official Contest Rules & Regulations

I. HOW TO ENTER

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. Enter by writing about a summer camp experience, or an experience with summer camp mates later in 500 words or less on an 8 1/2x11 piece of paper, and printing your name, address, phone number, and date of birth on the back of the paper and sending your submission to "The J*A*P Chronicles" Contest, Random House, Doubleday Marketing 1745 Broadway, Mail drop 22-3, New York, NY 10019. Entries must be mailed separately and received by Random House no later than July 31, 2005. LIMIT ONE ENTRY PER PERSON. Partially completed or illegible entries will not be accepted. Random House is not responsible for lost, late, mutilated, illegible, stolen, postage due, incomplete or misdirected entries.

II. ELIGIBILITY

Contest is open to all legal residents of the United States who are over the age of 18 on July 31, 2005. All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply. Void wherever prohibited or restricted by law. Employees of Random House Inc., its parent, subsidiaries and affiliates, and their immediate family members, and persons living in their household are not eligible to enter this contest

III. PRIZES

One Grand Prize Winner will receive a $250 gift certificate to Bliss Spa (can be redeemed at the Bliss Spa locations in New York and London, Bliss Catalog, or on-line at www.blissspa.com) Three (3) Second Prize Winners will receive a $50 gift certificate to Bliss Spa.

 

IV. WINNERS

Winners will be chosen on or about August 15, 2005 from all eligible entries received by Random House. The contest will be judged by Random House staff based on the quality and persuasiveness of the submission. Winners will be notified by mail and the Grand Prize Winner will be required to sign and return affidavit(s) of eligibility and release of liability within 14 days of notification. A noncompliance within that time period or the return of any notification as undeliverable will result in disqualification and the selection of an alternate winner. In the event of any other noncompliance with rules and conditions, prize may be awarded to an alternate winner. Winners will be notified by mail on or about August 15, 2005. Taxes and Tip, if any, are the winner's sole responsibility. RANDOM HOUSE RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SUBSTITUTE PRIZES OF EQUAL OR GREATER VALUE IF PRIZES, AS STATED ABOVE, BECOME UNAVAILABLE.

V. ADDITIONAL PROVISIONS

By participating, winner agrees that Random House, its parent company, assigns, subsidiaries or affiliates, and advertising, promotion and fulfillment agencies will have no liability whatsoever, and will be held harmless by winner (and winner's parent/legal guardian) for any liability for any injuries, losses, or damages of any kind to person, including death, and property resulting in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from the acceptance, possession, misuse, or use of the prizes, or participation in this contest. By entering the contest, the winners consent to the use of the winner's name, likeness, and biographical data for publicity and promotional purposes on behalf of Random House Inc. with no additional compensation or further permission (except where prohibited by law). For the names of the Grand-Prize winners, available after August 15, 2005, please send a stamped, self-addressed envelope to: "The J*A*P Chronicles" Contest, Random House Doubleday Marketing, 1745 Broadway Mail drop 22-3, New York, NY 10019.
