Welcome to the October issue of Potter Craft News!

October is an exciting month for Potter Craft. For crafters everywhere we have gathered a harvest of projects to entice, instruct, embellish, and inspire.

Melissa Leapman’s new book Cables Untangled has arrived, and we are all inspired by the beauty and complexity of her extraordinary patterns. A great teacher, Melissa unlocks the mystery and mastery of this beautiful and anything-but-traditional style of knitting. And the best part is the book-within-a-book stitch dictionary of over 100 different cables.

To mix things up a bit and prepare us for all the glamour of the holidays, Annie Modesitt ventures into the sparkly realm of jewelry-making in Twist and Loop, with recipes for loops, bends, and twists will teach you how to magically transform ordinary wire and beads into glittering, wearable works of art using both knit and crochet techniques.

And finally we want to welcome into the world Nature Babies by Tara Jon Manning. Tara has created a delightful collection of fun garments and accessories to knit, sew, and felt for the baby, nursery, and mom. Nature Babies includes great ideas for gifts from some of the earth’s loveliest materials.

Happy Crafting!

Twist and Loop
By Annie Modesitt

This collection of more than 25 wire-knitted and crocheted jewelry projects offers jewelry lovers the opportunity to create original handmade designs. While the basic methods are the same, the experience of knitting with wire is quite different from working with fiber. Annie walks readers through the creation of wire jewelry with step-by-step guidance focused on translating your skills from yarn to wire.

Nature Babies
By Tara Jon Manning

This wide selection of projects is made up entirely of ecologically sound materials. Nature Babies features more than 30 knitting, sewing, and felting projects that cater to baby, nursery, and mom. Each project is created with safe and soft fabric or yarn, perfect for little ones to cuddle in and wear. Beginners will discover expert guidance and easy-to-follow instructions, while the seasoned crafter will delight in the beauty of the patterns and the texture of natural and organic fibers and yarns.
