Welcome to the November issue of Potter Craft News!

This month, I am excited to introduce Rosy Ngo as the new Editorial Director of Potter Craft. Since joining Clarkson Potter in 2003 as an editor, and then becoming our first Senior Acquisitions Editor for the launch of Potter Craft, Rosy has been instrumental in getting our new imprint up and running. Her stellar acquisitions have included dozens of titles, including the bestselling Mason-Dixon Knitting, 99 Ways to Cut, Sew, Trim & Tie Your T-Shirt into Something Special, Odd Ball Knitting, and the Lion Brand series. For those of you who know Rosy, you know that she brings a unique style, intelligence, and quality to every book we publish.

Congratulations, Rosy!

Here’s a tip from Annie Modesitt from her book, Twist and Loop: Dozens of Jewelry Designs to Knit and Crochet With Wire.

The tool may not make the craftsperson, but it can certainly help! If possible, try a variety of tools before purchasing any to see how comfortable a particular pair of pliers or ball peen hammer is in your own hands. Many manufacturers make tools in several sizes to suit different hands. It’s also best to purchase the highest quality tools you can afford—poorly made, inexpensive tools are never a bargain.
