The work of Selldorf Architects is known for its clarity of distribution, elegant proportions, deliberate rendering of light, and integrity of structure. This monograph, the first published on the firm, concentrates on twenty major projects from institutional, commercial, high-end retail, residential, and art-related spaces.
Projects featured include the acclaimed Neue Galerie New York: Museum for German and Austrian Art; Hauser & Wirth Gallery, London, a converted Sir Edwin Lutyens bank; the recently opened Barbara Gladstone Gallery, New York; the Abercrombie & Fitch flagship store, a popular tourist destination on New York's Fifth Avenue; the twenty-story luxury condominium building 200 Eleventh Avenue, in Manhattan's Chelsea arts district, which has a car elevator that allows residents to park outside their front doors and is opening this fall; Pika House, a mountain residence in Dunton Hot Springs, Colorado; and the relaunch of Vica, a design line of furniture, lighting fixtures, and hardware.
