Author Q&A

When it comes to chiropractic, many people still grimace and say "No Way! No one’s cracking my neck!" Maybe you feel the same way.  But chiropractic is America’s hottest growing drug-free alternative health care option–what sends Americans in for more than 300-million office visits a year? What do they know that you may be missing?

TOP 3 MYTHS ABOUT CHIROPRACTIC CARE

Chiropractors are not real doctors!

FALSE–in the United States (as well as the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands) chiropractors are licensed medical professionals who all participate in standard undergraduate work and then undertake on average 4 additional years (2,880+ hours) of instruction including anatomy, physiology, orthopedics, and more … sometimes including psychiatry and obstetrics!

Basically, the treatments hurt!

FALSE–in the majority of cases the adjustments are quick, painless, and minor.  What chiropractors know is that even the smallest misallignment in a vertabrae can give excrutiating pain, but moving everything back into place is often a slight, subtle adjustment that the patient may not even feel.  Some soreness can result from an adjustment, since the muscles are being asked to do something that they’ve not been doing once the bones are back in nature’s order.

Once you go … you can never stop going!

FALSE–or at least this is an overstatement. Some people choose not to continue with chiropractic care after the problem from which they sought relief is improved or cured.  Others learn to take a different approach.  The best analogy is to dental care: we’ve learned to take a preventative stand, with daily care and several visits a year for cleaning and maintenance.  Apply this principle to your spine–the core of your body–and you can see why considering seeing a chiropractor regularly just makes sense!

THE CHIROPRACTIC WAY isn’t about curing a problem, it is about gaining health! And this new book offers you more than an overview of what to expect from your office visit, or what kind of chiropractor is right for you–it offers you an alternative you can really live with well!
