About Joanna Cole

Joanna Cole - Ready, Set, Read!
Joanna Cole has taught elementary school, has worked with a news magazine, and was for several years a senior editor of children's books. Today she is a full-time author writing for children. Among the dozens of highly praised children's books she has written are The Magic School Bus books. She has compiled numerous anthologies, including several with Stephanie Calmenson. She lives in Connecticut with her husband and daughter.

Stephanie Calmenson is the author of many books for children, including Dinner at the Panda Palace, The principal's New Clothes, and What am I? Very First Riddles. She is also the compiler, with Joanna Cole, of several anthologies, including The Read Aloud Treasury and A pocketful of Laughs. Before becoming a full-time writer, she was an elementary-school teacher and a children's book editor. She lives in New York City.
