Something’s wrong at home and Lisa feels powerless every time her parents get angry at her or at each other. When CARL, the County Animal Rescue League, puts out an SOS for volunteers, Lisa knows she’s found a place where she’ll be appreciated. Before long, a stray horse named P.J. steals her heart. But just as things seem to be getting better, Lisa’s parents deliver some news that will change her life forever.
Stunned and upset, Lisa pulls away from everyone—even her friends—and devotes herself to caring for P.J. Stevie and Carole know that The Saddle Club can pull through anything, as long as they’re together. But how can they help Lisa if she keeps shying away? When a fiery and famous show jumping team arrives at Pine Hollow and begins stirring up trouble, Carole and Stevie have to convince Lisa that they need her help—fast.
About Bonnie Bryant
Welcome to the Saddle Club!
There are only two rules in this club: You’ve got to be horse crazy, and you’ve got to be willing to help your friends.
Sound good? All you have to do to join is turn the page and start reading.
You’re going to meet a lot of new people in the Saddle Club. Some of them you’re going to love, and some of them . . . well, maybe not so much.
The club has three main members: Stevie (short for Stephanie), Carole, and Lisa.
Carole is the horse craziest of them all. Sometimes it seems as if horses are the only things on her mind. Lisa is cool-headed and logical, a straight-A student with a great memory. Stevie, on the other hand, can be a little impetuous and often forgets to use common sense. When she sees people in trouble, she’ll do just about anything to help get them out of it—and that’s where the fun begins!
So saddle up—I mean, open the book, and share the girls’ adventures, troubles, and triumphs. Join them as they solve mysteries, make friends, and visit new places. Learn about Pine Hollow Stables. Meet Max, their teacher, and Mrs. Reg, Max’s mother. Get to know some of the other riders, like Phil and Veronica. Well, you might not want to get to know Veronica. You’ll have to see for yourself.
Most of all, have fun with your fellow Saddle Club members, who are sure to become your new best friends.
