Ever since they formed The Saddle Club, Stevie, Carole, and Lisa have been inseparable. So they're all feeling a little sad at the thought of not being together for the Christmas holidays. But while Lisa is riding along the beautiful beaches of sunny San Marco, Stevie will be combing the mall for the perfect New Year's Eve dress. And Carole will be training Starlight, the gorgeous bay gelding she got for Christmas!
But no one's holiday goes smoothly, especially Lisa's. On her first day at the San Marco stables, she takes an embarrassing fall, just like a beginner! And that's not the worst of it: The volcanic terrain and tricky footing of the tiny island can be confusing to horses -- and lethal for their riders. Just as Lisa's confidence in her riding plummets to an all-time low, a dangerous mishap will put her horseback skills to the ultimate test... and have her missing her Saddle Club friends like crazy!
About Bonnie Bryant
Welcome to the Saddle Club!
There are only two rules in this club: You’ve got to be horse crazy, and you’ve got to be willing to help your friends.
Sound good? All you have to do to join is turn the page and start reading.
You’re going to meet a lot of new people in the Saddle Club. Some of them you’re going to love, and some of them . . . well, maybe not so much.
The club has three main members: Stevie (short for Stephanie), Carole, and Lisa.
Carole is the horse craziest of them all. Sometimes it seems as if horses are the only things on her mind. Lisa is cool-headed and logical, a straight-A student with a great memory. Stevie, on the other hand, can be a little impetuous and often forgets to use common sense. When she sees people in trouble, she’ll do just about anything to help get them out of it—and that’s where the fun begins!
So saddle up—I mean, open the book, and share the girls’ adventures, troubles, and triumphs. Join them as they solve mysteries, make friends, and visit new places. Learn about Pine Hollow Stables. Meet Max, their teacher, and Mrs. Reg, Max’s mother. Get to know some of the other riders, like Phil and Veronica. Well, you might not want to get to know Veronica. You’ll have to see for yourself.
Most of all, have fun with your fellow Saddle Club members, who are sure to become your new best friends.
