About Ellen Olson-Brown

Ellen Olson-Brown - Ooh La La Polka-Dot Boots

Ellen Olson-Brown has always loved children, words, ideas, words, and silliness.  She has been a kindergarten and preschool teacher, a mother, and now she works with researchers who are using giant brain cameras called fMRI scanners to learn more about how kids brains work when they do puzzles or listen to stories.  Someday she’d like to see pictures of kids’ brains reading her books and find out which parts are working hardest during the silly parts!

About Christiane Engel

Christiane Engel - Ooh La La Polka-Dot Boots
Christiane Engel has been working as an illustrator in children’s books and advertising ever since she graduated with an MA in Graphic Arts in the UK.  Before that, she studied Illustration & Animation in her home country of Germany. When she illustrates, she draws on her own childhood experiences and she enjoys her profession absolutely because of that. Everyday is different and she works on lots of projects with clients from all over the world…all from her home studio in London.

Review, Booklist:
"From the astronaut with a silver hat to the princess with a gold tiara, the characters in this small, interactive picture book celebrate clothes and costumes. Young children, especially those who become passionately attached to favorite outfits, will enjoy the bright, active, acrylic paintings that show a cast of diverse kids in snazzy ensembles of all kinds."
