Handprint your complete name and address, including zip code, and phone number (optional) on an Official Entry Form or 3” x 5” piece of paper. Mail entry in a hand-addressed (#10) envelope to: Louis L’Amour Family Heritage Celebration Sweepstakes, PO Box 5010 Bristol, CT 06011-5010 . Entries must be postmarked by October 2, 2009 and received by October 16, 2009. You may enter as often as you wish via mail, but limit one entry per outer mailing envelope. ONLINE ENTRY:
Enter online beginning at 12:00 A.M., U.S. Eastern Time (ET), June 2, 2009, through 11:59 PM, U.S. Eastern Time (ET), October 2, 2009, at www.lamourfamilyheritagecelebration.com by following the Louis L’Amour Family Heritage Celebration directions and providing your complete name, address and email address. Limit one entry per person and/or email address per day.

Sponsor is not responsible for lost/late/misdirected entries or computer malfunctions. Entrants may be automatically enrolled into the Louis L’Amour email program (no purchase necessary to receive the email program, and entrants may cancel the email program at any time).

WINNER SELECTION:
One (1) Grand Prize Winner and ten (10) First Prize Winners will be selected in a random drawing from all eligible entries, conducted on or about October 22, 2009, by the Bantam Dell Marketing Department. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received. Potential Winners from Canada will be required to answer a time-limited arithmetic skill-testing question in order to qualify as a Winner.

PRIZES:
Grand Prize (1)—A 5 day/4 night trip for the Grand Prize winner and three (3) guests to Colorado, consisting of round-trip Economy Class air transportation provided by a commercial airline, rental car for the duration of the trip, size and type as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion, hotel accommodations (two standard rooms, each double occupancy), standard, commercial tours of both Mesa Verde National Park and the L’Amour family ranch. Hotel accommodations include one night in Denver, two nights at the famed Strater Hotel in Durango, and one night at the renowned Far View Lodge in Mesa Verde National Park. (Approximate retail value: $4,500. ARV may vary depending on the Grand Prize Winner’s city of departure and dates of travel.)

Ten (10) first prizes: First two volumes in The Collected Short Stories of Louis L’Amour (Actual retail value: $48.00 per prize)

Items not listed in Grand Prize, including but not limited to ground transportation, meals, room service and all other personal and incidental expenses, will be Winner’s responsibility. Grand Prize Winner must travel by December 1, 2010, and travel dates are subject to availability and blackout periods. All travel must be from the major airport nearest to Grand Prize Winner’s residence, and Winner will be responsible for any travel to and from that airport.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE:

Employees of Random House, Inc., The Random House Publishing Group, their parent, subsidiaries, affiliates, agencies and immediate families and persons living in the same household of such employees are not eligible. GENERAL CONDITIONS:
Taxes will be the responsibility of the Winners. Potential Grand Prize Winner may be required to execute an Affidavit/Publicity/Liability Release within 14 days of attempted notification, or prize will be forfeited and an alternate Winner selected. Grand Prize Winner’s traveling companions must be 18 years of age or older and may be required to execute Liability Releases within the same time period. Non-compliance with any condition will result in disqualification and selection of an alternate Winner. Grand Prize Winner will be notified by mail on or about October 29, 2009, and First Prize Winners will be notified by mail on or about November 6, 2009. No transfer/cash substitution of prize is permitted. Sponsor reserves the right to post, remove and/or modify this sweepstakes on the Internet at any time. Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify entries from anyone tampering with the Internet entry process. If, for any reason, the sweepstakes or any drawing is not capable of running as planned by reason of damage by computer virus, worms, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, technical limitations or failures, or any other causes which, in the sole opinion of the Sponsor, could compromise, undermine or otherwise affect the Official Rules, administration, security, fairness or proper conduct of the sweepstakes, the Sponsor reserves the right and absolute discretion to modify these Official Rules and/or to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the sweepstakes. In the event of termination or cancellation, the Winners will be selected from all eligible entries received before termination. Notwithstanding the foregoing, if the Grand Prize Winner’s home is in a city near Denver, Colorado (as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion), the Sponsor may replace Economy Class air transportation with ground transportation in their sole and absolute discretion and no compensation or substitution will be provided for difference in prize value. All other expenses and costs not expressly listed above, including but not limited to tips, entertainment, transfers, and transportation to airport to and from home residence, are travelers’ sole responsibility. No refunds or credit for changes are allowed. All taxes, fees and surcharges on prizes including but not limited to government imposed airport taxes and fees, food and beverage, telephone and internet connections/usage are the sole responsibility of Grand Prize Winner and guests. Grand Prize Winner and guests are responsible for all tax consequences and compliance with all governmental reporting and payment requirements. By entering the Sweepstakes, the Grand Prize Winner and guests consent to the use of the Grand Prize Winner and guests names, likenesses, and biographical data for publicity and promotional purposes on behalf of Sponsor with no additional compensation or further permission (except where prohibited by law). All other entry names will NOT be used for subsequent mail solicitation.

All disputes and questions regarding the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, or the rights and obligations of any participant, and the Sponsor, shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of New York, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of alw rules or provisions that would cause the application of the laws of any jurisdiction other than New York. The validity or unenforceability of any provision of these Official Rules shall not affect the validity or enforceability of any other provision. If any such provision is determined to be invalid or otherwise unenforceable, these Official Rules shall be construed in accordance with their terms as if the invalid or unenforceable provision was not contained therein.
