David Abram

David Abram is a cultural ecologist and environmental philosopher who lectures and teaches widely. He received a Lannan Literary Award for The Spell of the Sensuous and fellowships from the Thomas J. Watson Foundation and Rockefeller Foundation. Named by the Utne Reader as one of one hundred visionaries transforming the world, Abram is also an accomplished sleight-of-hand magician who has lived with indigenous magicians and medicine people in Asia and the Americas. He lives in New Mexico.
