3. Chopin never wanted his Fantasie Impromptu published. The composer kept a portfolio containing manuscripts he felt weren't good enough yet to be published. On his deathbed Chopin told his sister about his portfolio and begged her to burn it. She promised she would but couldn't bring herself to destroy it. Ten years after his death she decided to give his works up for publication.
