1. Johann Christian Bach, the youngest son of Johann Sebastian Bach, was Mozart's first positive role model. The two met in London in 1762 when Mozart was 8 and Johann Christian was 30, and they became fast friends. Mozart's admiration for Bach transcended his childhood, as evidenced by his borrowing of some of Johann Christian's compositions.
