Dr. Kenneth Axen is an associate professor of rehabilitation medicine at New York University Medical Center. His numerous research articles in the Journal of Applied Physiology have earned him international recognition in the area of respiratory control.

Dr. Kathleen Vermitsky Axen is a professor in the Department of Health and Nutrition Sciences at Brooklyn College of the City University of New York. Her research on the regulation of insulin secretion has been published in the American Journal of Physiology.
