Arthur Ross Book Award

The Council On Foreign Relations has announced the short list for the Arthur Ross Book Award, one of the most significant awards for books on international affairs. Five Random House LLC titles are on the short list: Embers of War by Fredrik Logevall (Random House), The Endgame by Michael R. Gordon and Bernard E. Trainor (Vintage), Iron Curtain by Anne Applebaum (Anchor), Little America by Rajiv Chandrasekaran (Vintage), and Why Nations Fail by Daron Acemoglu and James A. Robinson (Crown). The Arthur Ross Book Award "recognizes books that make an outstanding contribution to the understanding of foreign policy or international relations." The winner of the first prize will receive $25,000, second prize $10,000 and an honorable mention will collect $5,000.
