John Graves Passes Away at 92

Richard Rausch

John Graves, whose works extolled and immortalized the ever-changing landscape of Texas, passed away last week at his home near Glen Rose, Texa. He was 92 years old. Goodbye to a River, an illuminating account of his canoe voyage down the Brazos River in north-central Texas, was the first of several books in a career spent documenting the natural beauty and constantly shifting environment of his home state. His full obituary can be read at The New York Times.
